My father-in-law recently passed away and owned three older and separate high end component stereo systems.
Unfortunately, the speakers that sounded the best with the pieces I pirated together were older and needed new wire. I ordered this wire and it came promptly.
The best part about this wire is that it is solid. My wife, who watched me put this all together, has extreme ADD and thus music cannot be played in the house while she is doing anything that requires thinking of any sort.
I have dismantled the system, putting it in our garage. I am confident that my new and stout speaker wire
will support me when I hang myself for all the time and labor expended on this little tragedy.

The AWG electric wire numbers are standardized. This roll is claimed to have a dual 16 AWG stranded cable 100 ft (30.48m) long. In the attached table, for AWG 16 the (single) cable should have a copper cross section of 1.3 mm2 and a resulting electric resistance of 4 mili-ohm per ft. Therefore, by connecting the two wires at one end and measuring the resistance at the other end, like I did in the second picture, I should have read 4 x 200 = 800 mili-ohm = 0.8 ohm. Instead, I got 1.5 ohms (1.7-0.2 the resistance of connecting wires), almost double! Meaning that you get less copper (and performance) than (dishonestly) advertised. Just to make sure that I did not make a mistake, I also checked the copper weight: 1.3 mm2 x 61m x 8.96 g/cm3 (density of copper) = 710 g. But the whole roll has 760 g and according to other simple geometric calculations, the insulation alone cannot have less than 400 g. Conclusion: Claiming they give you a 16 AWG cable, they actually give you something close to AWG 19, with half the copper. Very intentionally misleading!

this single spindle of wire runs my whole living space worth of speakers and there is no noticeable drop in quality of sound or anything negative. sometimes you don’t need to go to the realm of audiophiles to get quality.

I was quoted an extremely silly price for some speaker cables from my local hifi shop, it was actually more than the cost of my Denon music system, for just the cables! Nope, not having that.
I replaced the ‘proper’ speaker cable supplied with my sound system with two longer lengths of this cable and I can hear absolutely no difference, none, not a dicky bird. I have used this to replace the supplied cables with my denon as they were both around 2 feet too short for where I needed to put the speakers and I used it to wire up the amazing little

thingy to some speakers that would have otherwise ended up in the loft gathering dust. In both case this cabe performs perfectly. I am sure some audiophiles will say that I should be spending hundreds or thousands of pounds on my cables, but I don’t think my ears are thousand pound ears!
I like music and I am very fussy about sound quality, as far as I can tell the sound quality provided by these cables is perfectly fine.

This is really great speaker wire. Insulated well and real easy to work with. The copper strands don’t pull out/break when stripping either.. 100′ of 16 ga for less than 12 bucks here on Amazon. It’s times like these that being a Prime member pays off.

It’s speaker wire, however while it’s not the top of the range, it’s value is great.
For my needs, I’ve wired up a new workshop with 60meters of the stuff for a 6ohm surround sound setup (no longer than 11meters per speaker)
Before you buy/install, I’d measure if your speakers will cope as it is a little on the thin side for larger speakers.
As a guide, for this 16 awg (1.3mm to the rest of the world) if you have speakers rated as below, try not to exceed the wire length per speaker:
2 ohm = 3.6 meters
4 ohm = 7.3 meters
6 ohm = 11 meters
8 ohm = 15 meters
If you are unable to get within those figures, chances are you’ll need either a thicker 14 or 12 awg cable instead 👍

Vino muy bien empacado y es cable de buena calidad lo use para los rear surround speakers y ahora le llega mejor la señal a los speakers pues estaba usando cable 18 pero este es cable 16 y se ve de muy buena calidad y el precio es muy razonable como se dice en ingles grate buy for the mony! gracias muy buen producto estoy satisfecho con el gracias.
