Colored my stubborn gray roots over the weekend and was blown away by the 100% coverage and super shine! Used a small makeup brush about the length (top to bottom bristles) of my grown in gray roots; left product on one hour then washed and deep conditioned for a few minutes. To my surprise not a single gray showed through!! I am 99% gray at the roots — airplane runway so to speak — (started coloring at age 26 and am now 57). The box brands from the store no longer work for me! My stylist uses heat lamp at the salon to get them covered. For me, coverage with do it myself home kits was 75% at best even when applying heat from hair dryer; grays showed through — I dreaded the process because of the outcome. On a whim I searched Amazon and ordered Blonde 8N — looked to be a much better match to my hair color. Box brands from the store are either too light or too dark for my roots. The 8N is perfect for my base and to blend with Carmel highlights. I have not seen 8N at the store and had my doubts since 7 is typically too light. Decided to go with the reviews and what showed to be a match at 8N on this product. Absolutely love the coverage, color and shine! Now I am excited to touch up between salon visits knowing my hair will look fabulous and not wonky! Thank you for offering this amazing color and product on Amazon!

Overall pleased with result of first use. Have used boxed color kits for several years that fade to a brassy look after a few weeks, even when using all the products to prevent it. Mixed 1 oz each of 5A and 6A with 20 volume. Processed for 30 minutes over entire length (conservative with first attempts!). While I did not achieve 100% grey coverage, the color is close to my natural hair. I still have a lot of red tones showing in direct sunlight which is a battle I continue to fight! Might try the AA next time to offset the red a bit more. The odor was strong so I ran a fan in the bathroom. Used the bottle application method (purchased separately) which made mixing and applying simple. Used a deep conditioner directly after application and my hair feels healthy. Can’t speak for long term results yet. Will update review in a few weeks:) First photo is indoors; second photo shows red tones in direct sunlight.

I got this to cover my grey. It works. I ordered strawberry blonde and it seems more red. Read the instructions and if covering grey, leave in for the 45 minutes as instructed. Don’t forget to use gloves.

I have tried several different brands- all that promised to cover the gray- this one actually does! After 5 weeks- all I have is growth. I was having a little trouble with which color and timing, so I called the 800 number and she could not have been any nicer or helpful. If you have 50% or more gray, definitely leave it on 45 minutes as per the instructions and it will be covered. I am super pleased with this product and the price can’t be beat. Highly recommend!

I am a very old, older person with horrible color resistant gray hair. I have tried almost every product that promises to cover your gray, with varying degrees of useless. Having never seen or used this before I decided I have nothing (but money) to lose by trying it. What a pleasant surprise. The color is very nice, it didn’t dry out my hair and my hair actually looks healthy and shiny and so far, it hasn’t faded or washed out as the other products I used did.
