I had never been one to color my own hair, but the cost of getting it done at the salon was becoming outrageous. My hair grows so fast. So I started doing this in between visits, going longer between appointments. It is easy to use and leaves my hair very soft. Also, the blonde shade I use is nearly impossible to find in stores. Always sold out. Amazon alway has it.

I left product on for 20 min per instructions but it left hair more red even though I used medium ash brown. It’s like the gray looks highlighted but not brown. I noticed others said they leave it on longer than directions state which I will try next time and update.

I LOVE the color and I love how simple Clairol has made the process. I have medium brown hair and I travel for business often – for many months at a time. Finding someone I trusted in whatever city I happened to be in was too stressful, and several years ago, I decided to try this. The other brands made you open and use the entire container and I really want it for touch-ups, as needed. I need to control how much product I use at one time.
I got good at mixing and honestly, it’s a breeze.
NOTE: When applying it, you may want to lightly comb it through so it blends the color with your dyed color. I do this and it blends. Use a comb you no longer need or love. It will get dyed, too!
I leave it on the prescribed time and I also have forgotten and left it on about 10 minutes longer and each time it looks fabulous. I have even used it on my eyebrows, carefully. Even my neighbor/friends who get to see the gray creeping in think I have just gone to my hairdresser, so that says something.
Also, I have thin hair, and keeping the color at the roots and the growing out hair added thickness again.
I have a convertible and the top is down most of the time and I will say, the color does not fade.
I love that it comes with everything you need for a successful root touch-up for a reasonable price.
It grows out like any other hair color job.

This product is so easy to use. The box comes with instructions and everything you need, including gloves! Just squeeze the 2 products together into the plastic bowl and mix. The brush applicator makes it easy to work the color creme into your roots and around your temples. My grays are stubborn, so I leave the color in for 15+ minutes, and all my roots come out looking beautiful, black and so shiny after I wash and dry my hair.
For those wondering, the color does come out in the tub when you’re washing the color off, but it’s easy to rinse away. I lay trash bags over my bathroom sink and counter while I’m coloring to protect from accidental drips, but it’s almost not necessary because the product clings really well to the brush, so there’s no splattering.
This is the first at-home hair coloring product that has worked for me. I have tried one or two other products before that didn’t cover my grays. This coverage is excellent!
Since I have to touch up my roots every 5-6 weeks, now instead of going to the salon and spending $70-$90, I only spend $7, and with the savings, I can pamper myself with salon highlights, a professional cut or a mani-pedi!

I used this product to dye my roots. It is very easy to apply and only takes 10 mins. Then you rinse. It’s applied to dry hair and you don’t have to wash your have after rinsing.
