So let me start by saying my two favorite natural baby lotions my kids have been using for years both got discontinued this year. (*facepalm* 2020, why do you have to be like this?!) So it was time to search for a new one since we have a toddler with super sensitive skin.
I am really sensitive to strong scents and I feel like every single baby lotion is lavender scented for some reason; I was super excited to find this one! I don’t like to use ‘unscented’ lotions because they usually just smell awful. Finally one that wasn’t lavender scented and it was natural! Bonus! Wrong! How do you screw up orange and vanilla so terribly?! Seriously, did the product tester have a cold the day they tested this or what?! You screwed up two of the best scents in the world! This lotion smells almost chemically like a cleaning product, not even a hint of orange or vanilla. This is why I hate buying things like this online, but covid means I can’t go to the store and test products, so it was worth a shot since I’ve heard a lot of good things about Honest Co. Seeing as how this is the first product I’ve used by them, we are not off to a good start…
I will say that it does work well, it’s very light, absorbs quickly, and leaves my baby’s skin super soft but I probably won’t continue to use it based on the scent alone. The search continues…

I can’t smell any vanilla at all, and hardly any orange. I specifically bought this to have a scented lotion that would also be clean. It checks the clean box, but misses the mark on fragrance.

The good: This lotion does what it’s supposed to do and I like that it doesn’t contain the carcinogens you typically find in scented lotions. It also doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
The bad: The scent is very faint and smells like slightly rotten orange peels. I don’t smell any vanilla whatsoever. This was disappointing for me because I have the Honest Detangling Spray in the same scent and it smells like a creamsicle. I’ve used other natural lotions that have much better scents without fragrance, so I had high hopes for this one.

The Amazing smell ( Sweet orange and vanilla) of the honest lotion we love and it leaves SJ’s skin so soft! Great, Great product!! We have used the lotion and the body wash / shampoo. We have never had a problem with any of the Honest products! I’d give it a 10 +!!

This is the 3rd product in this scent line I’ve tried. It’s got a great orange/vanilla scent which isn’t strong, quite delicate actually (I’m highly scent sensitive) nor does it last too long (which I like). It’s excellent on the skin, and seems to last longer than many other natural/organic brands I’ve tried. Will definitely buy again.

Bottle is nice
Lotion feels nice however said hypoallergenic so I wasn’t expecting coconut oil to be in it. My bad -should have read that. I am allergic to coconut so skin was red and itchy after I applied it. I cannot comment on if this lotion works well due to the allergy as it left my skin dry and flakey.
Been trying to find more orange scented things as it helps with my anxiety. This doesn’t have much of an orange scent. the vanilla smells a bit off as well. I’m not a fan of the scent of this lotion. (I like orange vanilla scents but this is not it.) my mom didn’t mind the smell but didn’t pick up that it was supposed to be orange vanilla.

I love Honest products but I can’t take the scents. Their Almond smells like licorice and the lavender is unbearably strong. The orange is much subtler. I like it. The lotion is wonderful. I wish they’d make different scents
Edit: I realized what the scent reminds me of…orange baby aspirin.

I like the idea of this lotion as it contains more natural ingredients than others, however the formula is too thin to be moisturizing (might be okay in the summer but I’m from Alberta and it is dryyyy here) also the base contains coconut oil which makes my skin break out in little bumps. Wouldn’t buy again but some people might like it.

I wanted to love this, but the smell is horrible. I use this same scent in shampoo and conditioner for my daughter, so I thought the lotion would smell the same. However, it does not.
