I have pale skin, and on a previous trip to the beach with a different sunscreen and no rash guard, I ended up with sun poisoning on the second day. This time around, I used a long-sleeved rash guard and consistently applied this sunscreen on any exposed areas of skin, reapplying every two hours or so. It has no strong scent, and for me, it was easy to rub in completely, with no white residue. By the end of the four-day beach trip, I ended up with no sunburns, and I barely even tanned; however, I did develop what appeared to be a sun rash on my cheeks and around my eyes, but I am uncertain if my face is just extra sensitive to the sunscreen or the sun. I even unintentionally took a nap for an hour on the beach and still no burning or tan marks. I am impressed with how well this sunscreen worked and will definitely be using it again (everywhere except my face that is)!

My friend in Florida recommended this for my trip to the Galapagos because it is enviro-friendly, and doesn’t hurt the coral.
This stuff is fantastic. I am a white skinned woman of Northern Euro descent (i.e. I burn easily) who has had eczema and so I am particular about what I smear on myself.
I barely got toasted and I was out *in* the water under a hot equatorial sun everyday during the week of the winter equinox (when the sun is more direct).
I would usually only apply it twice a day. It goes on way smoother than any other mineral sunscreens I have used previously. Starts out white creamy and then blends in pretty quickly.
My skin did not react at all to it. Huzzah. I am in love with this stuff. Leave it to the Aussies to know how to make a solid sunblock.

This sunscreen works wonders for me! I am extremely prone to sweating very easily, and have tried dozens of sunscreens over the years. This is the first one I can apply and actually have it stick and not run off in the first few minutes. No other sunscreen I have tried has been able to stay put like this has. If you are prone to sweating easy or a lot, and other sunscreens fail you, try this!

I buy this sunscreen not only to prevent sunburns but to protect my 5 years old daughter’s health – she has a rare autoimmune disease in which the UV Rays create inflammation and weakening of the muscles (juvenile Dermatomyositis). I did a ton a research on more than 35 brands of sunscreen and selected this one. It was also recommended by 4 dermatologists and several rheumatologists.
In addition to this, we live in Florida, right on the beach and we lead an active outdoor lifestyle.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that we are living in a very challenging environment for the sun exposition and we have to protect her from UV Rays not only to prevent sunburns and skin cancer but in this case we have to make sure that she is adequately protected from the sun to avoid dramatic consequences. AND THIS SUNSCREEN DOES IT FANTASTICALLY. We owe a big part of the normality of her life to this sunscreen.
Here are some considerations:
1) frequency & content:
I apply this sunscreen on her every single day before going to school, then it is reapplied at recess, then again in the afternoon. Not everybody needs that much but my point is that its composition is natural enough that I don’t have to worry – given our extremely high consumption of sunscreen – about chemicals.
In addition to being safe for us, it is safe for coral & reefs, something that mattered to us as we spend a lot of time at the beach.
Water: you will get a solid two hours in the water before needing to reapply.
2) texture and comfort:
It is comfortable enough that it doesn’t feel greasy once on the skin. Also important, it doesn’t make you look like a ghost. It has just the right amount of thickness to it and penetrates well in the skin. It doesn’t show. However, it stays on because I can still feel it on her skin in the evening when I bathe her.
3) Scent:
no smell but my daughter says that it smell like the beach.
4) cost;
Aligned with others and/or just a little bit more expensive but we don’t have to use as much… a little bit goes a long way.
5) packaging:
The bottle changes color to purple when exposed to UV Rays. This might seem silly but it helps a lot to entertain little kids and each time that she sees it changing color, she asks by herself to have it reapplied.
6) efficacy; I’m pleased to report that we have been using it for 2 years and 4 months now and that it has played an important role in keeping her healthy and on the path to remission.
If I trust my daughter’s quality of life on it, it’s because it has made its proof.
Apply and reapply and go have fun outdoors knowing that the blue lizard has your back… or your skin!

I use this sun screen when I am out in the sun for leisure and don’t care about vanity, it never fails to protect my skin! It does leave a slightly white cast that is why it is for the days when I don’t have to justify my looks but prioritise my health 🙂 I also love the bottle that shows how much UV there is, especially on the cloudy days when you tend to forget about it.

This spreads less into my eyes so I’m not washing out my eyes nearly as much, which was the main problem with the chemical sunblocks as opposed to the physical ones like this. It still happens just a lot less often.
The downside is that it’s thick and white and makes you look pale. Not as pale as you’d look if your skin doctor gave you bad news about sun damage or skin cancer or just plain wrinkles so I’ll gladly take it.

This is a great sunscreen. It doesn’t burn my eyes like other sunscreens do. I bought it because my cat scratched me and I had to get stitches in two places near my eye, so I need to put sunscreen on the leftover scars because otherwise they’ll turn brown in the sun. This sunscreen doesn’t burn my eyes when it’s applied near my eyes!!! It works very well at protecting my skin from the sun. My entire face can be covered with the amount equal to half of a dime. It is thin and lightweight. If you’re looking for a rich lotion, this is not for you. It’s perfect! You won’t be sorry if you buy it!

My son works on a wildfire chainsaw crew cleaning up after disasters. It’s HOT, HEAVY & SWEATY work in the sun, and we all know the hazy sun is the worst for our skin. He’s a blond blue eyed guy, so tends toward the pink, not tan skin after exposure. This works great for him ! It stays on when he re-applies it (I HATE when you’re trying to reapply & it just seems to slide off :/ and he just keeps it in his site pack so he always has it. Great Product, Definitely Recommend It !
